  1. Hi, I’m Paul Kane this is my first year at amity and I moved to Woodbridge this summer. I have 2 cousins that graduated from amity and one that still goes here. My hobbies are drawing playing sports, soccer, football, basketball and track. Also I love to read a lot.
I signed up for this class because I thought it would be easy to learn and fun to do. I have never seen a live show before but am planning on to this year with my mom. I’m most interested in lighting because it seems pretty cool but I also want to learn how to act.

  2. My name is Shayne Fischman. I live in Orange CT. My favorite music is Elvis Presley and the Rolling Stones. I play the drums and the guitar. I enjoy following the New York Yankees. One of my many hobbies is competing in Taekwondo; a national sport from Korea. Recently I have just earned my black belt too. The main reason why I signed up for this class was to expand my prior knowledge in the theater dept. In 2008 I was in the movie “DOUBT” starring Mereyl Streep, Amy Adams, and Phillip Seymour Hofman. I have seen “STOMP” in the Shubert Theater in New Haven. I have never seen a group of such talented people in my life. I plan to get a lot out of this class. I hope to enhance my skill not only as an actor, but in the behind the scenes work that goes into a great production.

  3. My name is Thomas Falcigno. I am fourteen years old. I live in Orange Connecticut. My favorite sports are tennis, football, and golf. One of my many hobbies is I love politics. When I grow up I want to be a politician. I live with my mom, dad, my sister and a dog named Zeus. He is a beagle and is six years old. The reason I signed up for this class is because I want to expand my knowledge of the behind the scenes work in productions and plays. I have seen many plays. My favorite was “Phantom of the Opera” because it showed Old School Broadway. I also thought the music was very good. I saw this in New York. In this class I am very anxious to learn about lighting. I believe in plays the lighting is the biggest part because of its effect on the actors.

  4. Hi my name is Joe Siracuse. I'm from Orange, Connectitcut. I like to play drums, make movies, go to the beach, and hang out with friends. I'm in this class because I'm interested in theater and I'd like to learn how everything works in theater. I may have a job in the intertainment bussiness when I'm older which could be out of music, movies, or theater. I have seen Phantom of the Opera in Broadway. I didn't like it much because the whole play was in song and I like to see the people stop to have a conversation in a normal way. I think I'd like to learn about sound the most out of this class because I play drums so I might be good at it.

I signed up for this class because my sister recommended it. It seems fun so, sure! I’ll try it. I’ve seen a few live plays before. My favorite was probably “moving up”, with music by Billy Joel. I prefer musicals; I also love “rent” and “mama mia!” musicals are very fun to go to.
I’m most interested in learning about scenic design and make up design. It seem interesting.

  6. My name is Christian Tracz. I’m from Orange and I love to cook. I own an antique car and I take great pride in my lawn. I enjoy watching the Yankee games (I’m an avid Yankee fan) and I am a firefighter in the city of Derby. I first became interested in acting when I was in the third grade. I performed the title role in the play, “The Wizard of Oz” in sixth grade. In eighth grade, my close friend, Marc Garofalo, also an actor, appeared as the prosecutor in the play, “To Kill a Mockingbird.” Freshman year of high school introduced me to Grease, the musical, in which I also participated. I hope to be more involved in the productions the school has this year.
I signed up for this class because I was hoping to gain more knowledge of the technological aspects to the programs. Of course, this information could not be ascertained simply by assessing a PowerPoint presentation or a quick run-through of the soundboard. I have seen several live plays before, including Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Cats” and “A Chorus Line” on Broadway. I enjoy plays because it really entertains the audience. I am most interested in learning about lighting. I intend to find out what the head lighting electrician does and how often they receive training.

  15. My name is Ted McNulty, and I am from Bethany, I went to private school for nine years before this, so this is my first experience with public school, and I am currently on the Cross Country team. Like I said I went to Saint Adean/Saint Brendan School for nine years, kindergarten to eighth grade. I have relatives in California, Vermont, Florida, and all over Greater New Haven. I actually have 14 cousins. Last year some friends and I got together and wrote a song to perform on our class night. It was a big deal because since the schools merged that year it was a good thing to start the new school, and hit the ground running with some new ideas, and individuality. I signed up for this class because I was interested in the topic. I have seen Wicked on Broadway and I loved it. It was great because all of the elements that contributed to it. The storyline, the costumes, and set. Everything was great really.I am really excited to learn about costume design; i always found it particularly interesting.

  17. My name is Shayna Weinstein, and I am from Woodbridge. Some of my hobbies are singing, sailing, and acting. I used to audition in New York for Broadway, movies, TV, and commercials. I had a manager for about two years. I sail at Yale Corinthian Yacht Club. I am a junior instructor for their summer sailing program and I am on the racing team. I have been acting for eight years. I have a two year old foster sister, Charlene, whom I love except when she is crawling across my face at 5 a.m.

I signed up for this class because I want to be a middle school music teacher. Middle school because in elementary school they do not do plays and not high school because in high school, they have the choral director separate from the drama teacher. Also my favorite teacher was my middle school choir teacher. To do the plays, I would need to know how to do all of the behind the scenes stuff.

I have been seeing live plays since I was two(a story for another day). I have seen Beauty and the Beast (three times), The Lion King, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Tarzan, etc. I have loved all of the plays I have seen.

I am interested in learning about the scenic designer. I am always so impressed with the scenery in the plays I've seen.

  20. My name is Tess Stirling. I currently live in Bethany but I have also lived in Woodbridge and Milford. Some of my hobbies are acting, swimming, painting, and reading. I also like to cook, spend time outside, and hang out with my friends. I live with my parents, my three sisters, my grandma, my great grandma, my dog, and my two cats. I signed up for this class because I wanted to learn about an aspect of theater I don’t know much about. I have always been interested in acting and theater in general, but now I want to learn about not just what goes on onstage, but all the details that make it happen. I have acted in four plays. I have seen a few plays, but my favorite was Our Town. There are no props in this play and yet the story comes through. I am most interested in costume design because I think it is what really makes the character come to life. During this class I hope to learn what is going on backstage, I hope this will make me a better actor.
