About Me

- I am the theater arts teacher at Amity High School. It is my fourth year teaching at Amity. I am a 1988 graduate of Amity High School and I have a BA in Theater Arts from SCSU and a Masters Degree in Education from Sacred Heart University. I have directed on the elementary, middle school, High School and Collge level. As a professional actor I appreared in many roles in New York, New England, US National Tours and in Europe. Previous to teaching at Amity I was the Drama Director at Shelton High School from 2002-2007. My wife Andrea directs and choreographs my shows with me. We curently reside in Bethany with our Children Ryan and Grace.
My partner and I choose the ‘La Vie Boheme’ scene for our project. We choose this scene because it is a very fun scene in the play; it has a lot of dancing and action taking place throughout it. It is a very busy scene that needs to accommodate for many things.
ReplyDeleteWe plan to use goggle sketch up for our project because it will make it easier to make it to scale and it will be easier to add all the detail our café needs. There will be many tables and chairs and a kiosk seeing as it takes place in a dinner.
well my and i partners chose to do the Apartment scene, and at this moment in time, it is just a concept and hasn't been put into sketch up, a model, just a collection of ideas. we chose it because there are so many outside influences and it should be too too hard to develop a simple apartment.
ReplyDeleteWe plan to use a multiple of things, Sketch up, and a physical model. sketch up because we can us it to design the apartment to how we want it and thus having a blueprint and prop idea while we construct the model
Kari and I chose the scene in the church at Angel's funeral. We are sketching the scene. We just wanted to do this scene to be different from everyone else. We were going to do the restuarant scene but a lot of people are doing that scene. We are going to put are drawings together on a bigger piece of paper.
ReplyDeleteMy partner and I chose the scene in the cafe where the cast sings "La Vie Bohem" and dances on the tables. We chose this scene because we thought that it would be simple to do, but interesting as well.
ReplyDeleteWe are going to use Google Sketch Up for our project because it seems like a pretty straight forward program that will allow us to do all of the things that we want to do. We are going to put in a lot of tables and chairs, enough room for people to dance, and one, maybe two, doors.

ReplyDeleteMe and Ariel picked Angel's funeral from the movie as our scene. We are doing a sketch. we both made our own sketch then we are going to put it all on one sheet. We picked this scene because we didn't want the same scene everyone else picked.
The scene Jane and I chose is Maureen's protest because we thought no one would do it. We are makeing are progect out of magazines and we are sketching part of it. Its a collage and also a drawing.
ReplyDeleteWe are useing alot of the design of the set for the protest in our progect. Also we are putting thing we hear in the lyrics of the song on the sage for props.

ReplyDeleteMe and Joy did the apartment scene and we picked this scene because it was the easist one I could come up with and I did not know what other sets I could do. We are doing a stech because I noticed I am not to good with stechup because that was the first project I was going to do and then i went with my second choice the drawing because I am prity good at that.
ReplyDeleteI first started by getting a stech down on paper and then found some ideas on what the apartment was going to look like and how I was going to set it up. This week I am going to put it all together and start my final project.
The scene Ali and I choose to is maureen protest because we thought it would be fun to do and there are lots of options to work with. we are doing the scene in a drawing.
ReplyDeleteWe really enjoy this scene in both the movie and the play, and it's one of our favorites. We really wanted options and a lot of freedom to be abstract, so hopefully it wil come out really cool!!
Me and my partner choose to do the apartment scene because we thought it'd be fun to do, and it was the only scene we could think of. We choose to draw the model because it was easiest for us. After we decided that we wanted to do the apartment scene we got some ideas and got an idea of what it's going to look like, and what were going to put in it
ReplyDeleteMy choice to do the scene at the life cafe was pretty simple. It is my favorite scene in the whole show. Plus in our production it is the one time i do a scene change. It is also funny watching my brother dance on tables!
ReplyDeleteI decided to do a computer drawing using sketch up. I am using the set we have at Amity as a guide to the set i create. My set will be representational.
